Yes cables worked previously and are only used for that, always left there next to PC for when needed. Nothing much has changed in terms of what I do, other than I'm offered the upgrade to Windows 11 now - would that be something to consider?

Thanks for the quick reply! No, they dont appear in Device Manager and yes the Green LED light up and stays constantly lit.
