As a follow-up to this thread, LabMaker requested that I send them any problematic devices. I sent them 20 AudioMoths. They stress-tested them and repaired any that needed new glue. Excellent service!

Thank you for the tips. I have a old non-functioning AudioMoth which I took apart to see the location of the original glue. In addition, I see that even in the new devices that are not detached, I can tell that there is a weaker join between the board and the battery holder than in my AudioMoths from previous purchase orders. This could mean that all 50 devices in the order could be the same. I will definitely write to LabMaker about this.

In that case, I will probably experience the same problem with remaining 34 unwrapped devices. I appreciate you contacting LabMaker.

I purchased them from LabMaker in early 2021. I kept them in their wrappers until I started using them for my bird migration studies this spring. So far, I have unwrapped 16 and 5 of those need to be glued. Thanks for your response.

Thank you this is very helpful. Upon reflection, I think the user in question did not push the sd card in all the way. He said it was blinking green in custom but several days later, blinking green when it should have been recording. One other issue arose with 2 Mac users who said there was no Local Time option in the Config app File menu. Is this possible? The were both using firmware 1.3

The main reason I'm asking this is because a Mac user had a blank card after one week of recordings. As far as I can tell, he configured it correctly.

Hi Alex, In looking at some of the other posts in this forum, I realized that you needed to put the version number of AudioMoth.bin file in the command line. So now I have been able to flash the firmware successfully. Perhaps that needs to be made more clear in the documentation? I appreciate your fast response to my request for help. John
