Hi there, I am a technician and have been tasked with finding out why these 8 units only record for an hour max. I am completely new to these units and have just downloaded the configuration app and had a play. I set the time and a schedule but not any success in getting the unit to record anything. Does a mic need to be attached to record sound or is there an onboard mic? I tried on default also presuming constant recording. My understanding is they just require 8 hours continuous recording, any assistance welcome while I try to get to grips with these units. I have fitted brand new Alkaline batteries and am using a supplied sd card. Also, can I just play any recorded sound on PC as a WAV file or do I need further software?

Hi, set a schedule to record for 8 hours but still only got 1 hour's worth of recordings, any help would be greatly appreciated?
Hi, If you switch to DEFAULT without configuring the AudioMoth you will get a continuous recording (limited by the 4.3GB WAV file size) at 48kHz. You do not need to attach a microphone. There is a 'getting started' guide here: https://www.openacousticdevices.info/getting-started The full manual is here: https://github.com/OpenAcousticDevices/Application-Notes/blob/master/AudioMoth_Operation_Manual.pdf Can you post the CONFIG.TXT file from the SD card and use the 'Summarise AudioMoth Files' option in the Config App to generate a SUMMARY.CSV file which shows the contents of the SD card for one of the SD cards that only recorded for one hour.
We can then see what the AudioMoth have done.
