Hello there!
I have two questions regarding AudioMoth 1.2.0 units I am using in the field:
i) The "Battery" level for most of our devices sits at 4.9V or >4.9V. We are recording for 7 days every 5 minutes (total of 12 hours a day). Would this battery level be sufficient for this recording schedule?
ii) My colleague and I configured our devices using the AudioMoth Configuration App, but if I plug a recently configured device back in, the app reads a gain setting and other settings than are different from those we used to configure. I assume this is normal, and that the configured settings we used will apply when recording begins the devices are turned on and set to "Custom" in the field?
Thank you all so much for your time and support.

Hi Chris, The Config App will tell you the daily energy consumption of the current configuration. This will vary with the schedule and the sample rate:
The schedule above shows 150mAh of consumption each day. A good set of alkaline batteries will have a capacity of about 3000mAh, and rechargeable batteries about 2850mAh, so this will last for about 20 days. The energy consumption will also vary with the make and model of the SD card. We use SanDisk Extreme (red and gold) SD cards as they are cheap, reliable and have the lowest energy consumption - https://www.openacousticdevices.info/sd-card-guide. The Config App does not read back the setting from the device. This is by design so you can configure multiple devices without having to change the settings. The configuration is stored permanently in the AudioMoth after configuration and will be applied when you switch to CUSTOM. The AudioMoth will write a CONFIG.TXT file each time you switch to DEFAULT or CUSTOM that describes the configuration that has been set. Alex
