Aloha all,
I am testing the recording capabilities with my AudioMoths, but the devices are not recording during the set recording period. Firmware is flashed and all up-to-date (1.3.0). If you look at my photo below in the configuration app, for example, there is a start time of 19:38 and end time of 19:45. I put sleep duration for 5s and recording duration for 200s. I configure the AudioMoth and I put it through a test run -- I make sure the switch is on Custom. When 19:38 comes around, the AudioMoth flashes green/red lights once, but instead of turning red and recording from 19:38 to 19:45, the device just continuously blinks green as if it were sleeping between recordings. I have switched between different AudioMoth devices, as well as between 32 and 64 GB sd cards, but with no success.
Any thoughts?
Mahalo for the help!
Hi Andre, As well as SD card errors, low battery would result in the behaviour you are seeing. It appears your battery is low (<3.6V on the Configuration App). What batteries are you using? Thanks Andy
Good-morning David,
I preset a device to record at 07:00 this morning, but with no luck. I'm looking at the SD Card Properties and the file system is FAT32.
Any thoughts?
That behaviour indicates that the AudioMoth is not recognizing the SD cards. Since you say you have tried multiple devices and cards it would suggest that the cards may not be correctly formatted. Format should be FAT32 or exFAT (I believe it will need to be exFAT for a 64GB card). Check that you haven't formatted the cards as NTFS by mistake.
The device should attempt to write at the beginning of every recording period - so with your current programming you should see the red LED flash once every 205 seconds.
