I have two audiomoths that will only record on default mode. When I put on custom mode the green light keep flashing. I have tried different sd cards, still the same.
Ah, sorry I read it the wrong way round. Could you be in the sleep period. Set it to record for 10 seconds and sleep for 10 seconds, and check whether it makes recordings.
The sleep duration and recording duration add up to 70 minutes, so the first recordings will only take place between 01:00-01:10, 02:10-02:20, 03:20-03:30, 04:30-04:40. It will start recording immediately if it finds itself in one of those periods, otherwise the green LED will flash whilst it waits to enter one. Could you have been within one of these periods when you tested the others and are now outside the recording interval. (If you set the sleep period to 3000 seconds you'll get ten minute recordings at the start of each hour).
So i did a test and the AudioMoths is recording on Default using the settings I have done on the configuration app. I have 3 other AudioMoths with the same configuration working just fine. This one is being funny, but still doing the job!!
When I put on CUSTOM only the green light flashes, just like it is waiting for the recording period to start. But it just doesn't.
Regarding the one that doesn't respond anymore. There is no light flashing on any mode or when connected to the computer.
Hi, What configuration did you set on the AudioMoth when you tried custom mode. The flashing green LED means that it is waiting to start a recording - either waiting for the start of a recording period, or waiting within a recording period for a cycle (record duration plus sleep duration) to start so that all the recordings are correctly time aligned. If you can post an image of the configuration I can check this for you. Is is definitely just the green LED flashing? Your AudioMoth is almost certainly working correctly if you can successfully make recordings in DEFAULT mode. What version of firmware was installed on the devices you were using? You can't damage the AudioMoth by trying to flash the device. When you say 'no response again' what actually do you see? How far did you get in the process? If the firmware on the device is corrupted, and the LED no longer blink when you try to flash the device, you can use the alternative approach to get into flash mode following step X here - https://www.openacousticdevices.info/flashing. We have a new GUI-based flashing app that we are planning to release next week that should make this easier.Alex
I did try flashing one, and it seems to have died!! I have connected, lights on, got the paper clip, lights off..no response again!! the other one still recording just on default.
Does the time increment in the configuration app normally?

I have set the sleep duration for 600 s (10 min) and the recording duration for 3600s (one hour). no?! am I being super silly here?
