Hello fellow users. Our research group is excited to deploy our 2 recently acquired Audiomoths 2.0 into the field for ongoing audio data collection. After having reading through the manual we have a few questions regarding optimal settings based on quarry, deployment time and audio quality. We are trying to capture high quality ambient recordings of a jurisdiction trying to verify the presence of certain terrestrial animals on a specific property. The property is sizable and distant in terms of serviceability of the recorder. We plan on retrieving them once a month to download the audio. The recorders will be on from 8pm to 6am every day. Has anyone determined optimal settings to do this in terms of balance of sound quality, duration of time and file size to accommodate a similar schedule? What memory size would be required for such a deployment? As first time users its hard to gauge and we would like to mitigate mistakes from the start if possible. Thank you very much for any tips/suggestions!
