Error when downsampling

I keep getting this error: '<filename> - Could not find ICMT chunk ID. '

When trying to downsample audiomoth file. Config app 1.9.1 running on windows 10 working with files acquired last year (July). I have managed to downsample the original file, but I want to apply high pass filter first - I do this in Adobe Audition without changing file name and then I get this error. But sometimes I have had same error even with the original file. Any ideas please?

That's a brilliant tool - thanks Alex. I only had chance to have a quick look, but it seemed like it was only possible to save a wav file of up to 1 min long. Is that right ?

Yes, it's intended for working with 1 minute clips.

Audacity will let you work with longer files and supports resampling and filters.

Hi, It's complaining that it can't find the original comment field in the header. The most likely reason is that Adobe Audition has changed the WAV file header format, or added some additional meta data that has changed the format.

The tools will always work on the original files, but may not if they've been modified by another application. Can you share one of the files that doesn't work here.

High pass filter applied in Audition. Error message: -- Downsample --

20220723_003035.WAV - Could not find ICMT chunk ID. Is there a way around this problem? I am recording without any filter applied as I want to montitor for bats and birds / mammals at night. I plan to play these back at a public event and want to minimise noise. So for the bats I want to high pass filter around 20 kHz and then downsample. I will then apply a low pass filter around then same frequency to listen for the birds / mammals. Jim

Hi Jim,

The Adobe Application has added some extra fields into the header and the Config App is expecting to find the files as written by the AudioMoth. The easiest solution would be to use the AudioMoth Filter Playground to do any filtering and downsampling. It will read both the raw AudioMoth files and also your Adobe Audition files. You can use it to generate WAV files, images and videos (with options to slow down ultrasonics to the audible range).
