Hi,
I'm trying to running the flash.exe. I'm following the steps from the tutorial (https://www.openacousticdevices.info/flashing), and when I reach step 1(Download your platform's Flash application), after I downloaded the flash.exe,I clicked "here" to install the driver, no .inf files appear, but the code below.
Than I copied the code to a .txt file, and converted it to a .inf file. But it still couldnot install. I donot know what went wrong and I cannot continue de process.
I use Windows 7. So how can I download and install this driver?
Many thanks in advance.
That's quite strange. Can you try downloading and running both the flash.exe file in the windows and windows32 folders here - https://github.com/OpenAcousticDevices/Flash/tree/master/bin.
I'm running Windows 10, and trying to flash my AudioMoth 1.0.0 (I have 39 1.1.0's on order!) with the latest firmware 1.2.0 I'm having the unsigned copy error others have described. The discussion above (quite long, and getting confusing) gives a link for signed firmware, but by the date of the link, I assume it must be unsigned. Is it possible to get the website "Getting Started" section to actually point to the signed version? Can someone point me at a link to dowload firmware version 1.2.0 as a signed version? Attached is screenshot of my error message:
HI Alex, it was a cable issue, I bought a new cable. Thanks for you r help.

HI Alex, I took the batteries and sdcard out, set the unit to custom, the leds were flashing, I then put the paper clip on and the lights stopped flashing but still no recognition of the unit. Could my my Norton software be an issue?

HI Alex, the green led is on when I plug the audiomoth into the computer, there isn't any flashing LEDs.

Hi Rob, The driver shouldn't be needed for Windows 10. I just tried on a new installation and it all worked automatically.
You should just be able to plug the device in, hold the paperclip to enter boot loader mode (make sure that the LED are initially flashing and then stop when you hold the paperclip on the contacts) and then Windows will recognise the device and install the driver.
The device should appear in the Device Manager.

Hi Alex, nothing happens when I plug the audio moth into my computer, when I tried manually this is teh response I get.

Okay. I've installed a Windows 7 and a Windows 10 virtual machine so I'll try to debug the process. On Windows 10 no driver is required and it all seems to work fine as long as you give Windows time to update the driver automatically. Others have reported that manually installing the EFM32-Cdc.inf on Windows 7 works fine but I haven't tried this process. Alex
@1017926861 Hi, Can you post some screenshots to show exactly what steps you are trying and the warning that Windows posts. With"Disable Driver Signature Enforcement" selected, are you then installing "EFM32-Cdc.inf" through the Device Manager?
Hi Rob,
In Windows 10 you shouldn’t have to install any drivers - they are built in.
Try the installer here - https://www.dropbox.com/s/5ygfbel1l6hrv9t/Silabs-CDC_Install.zip?dl=0. This is the signed version which should cover the same device and should avoid having to disable the driver signature enforcement above.

This is what the Silicon Labs instructions says:
Manually direct Windows to look for drivers in the directory where you have your copy of the "EFM32-Cdc.inf" file. This can be done with the new device "Wizard" which might pop up after device insertion, or you can open "Device Manager", left click on the new device and select "Update Driver Software...". Some versions of Windows wont allow you to install unsigned drivers. If you suspect this, reboot the PC and repeatedly push F8 during boot until the boot menu appears. Select the "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement" option. You should now be able to install an unsigned driver.
Ah, yes. Apparently there is an option somewhere to just install it anyway despite this warning. I've never used Windows 7. Can you post a screenshot?
Hi, Can you try downloading the .INF file here - https://www.dropbox.com/s/qn81uhcug6v3ydb/EFM32-Cdc.inf?dl=0. Alex
