Hi all, I'm just getting started in the ARU world. I'd like them to be as autonomous as possible (so battery, solar and cellular data upload.) Are any of you running audiomoth completely remote? If so, would you mind sharing your setup? I operate a few migration bird banding stations in the southeastern US and would like to couple ARU data to compare with my banding data (including ones at Motus sites.) In addition, I'd like it to run from migration start to end (with defined sampling times) to see what species we might be missing on either side of our field work window.
I'm looking for anything you can help me with: thoughts on setup, configuration, does elevation from the ground matter, cost and/or issues doing remote download. I travel a fair bit across 4 states so accessing the unit to retrieve data in a timely matter isn't always feasible. Thanks in advance from the newbie.
Hi Kyle, just wondering if you ever got any feedback? I'm looking at audiomoths for a similar use case (completely remote) and can't tell if it would work. Were you able to configure them with solar and cellular upload and if not, were you able to find alternative equipment/setup? Thanks!
