Hello I just wanted to let you know about an issue I was having with my Audiomoths after updating to the most recent firmware. I was recently getting my unit ready to use and testing it out, trying to decide on recording periods (whether I wanted to use a 10 second on 5 second off for bat recording, which keeps file sizes manageable, or record 55 s on 5 off for more coverage and then expand the files into 10 second chuncks later to keep Sonobat from imploding).
Anyway, I went to test it out and got this following error when trying to expand the files: "DATA chunk size does not match file size." This was with the same unit, same SD card I had successfully expanded files from last year, and the unit had fresh batteries. I was scratching my head about what changed and I realized that I had loaded the most recent firmware update (1.10.1). I tried rolling it back to 1.10.0 and it still had the error. So I tried 1.9.0 and that worked! Files expanded without an error.
So there might be some issue with the latest firmware release and expanding TWAV files produced under them. Just in case this helps anyone.
Hi Kim, Firmware version 1.10.0 onwards added GUANO meta-data to the WAV files. Older versions of the Config App won't expect the files to contain this extra data. Hence the warning. To expand these files makes sure that you have the most up to date version of the Config App. Update the Config App to version 1.11.1 and it should happily expand both the new and old formats. Alex
