Hello to everyone, I plan to deploy the new Audiomoth 1.2 for a small study of mine, before I use the 1.1 edition. I remember, that if you wanted to change the batteries on the field, the sensors would lose their configuration once the batteries were removed, and you had to do an on-site configuration. My question is this, if I change the batteries, by switching the sensor off, replacing the batteries and SD card, and then turning it again on custom mode, will the Audiomoth keep its configuration?
Since firmware version 1.5.0 the configurations are persistent. They are stored permanently in the AudioMoth even when the batteries and SD card are removed. However, the AudioMoth will lose the time when you remove the batteries. The easiest way to reset the time is with the smartphone app (https://www.openacousticdevices.info/mobileapplications). When you switch to CUSTOM without having set the time the AudioMoth will show a constant red LED and a flashing green LED and it will be listening for the acoustic chime from the smartphone app. It will switch into CUSTOM mode properly once the time is set. If you don't have a smartphone you can also use the AudioMoth Time App (https://www.openacousticdevices.info/applications) which will set the time but leave the current configuration unchanged.
