I've finally got my audiomoths to flash using the paperclip approach, and having obtained the data cable recommended by Alex (thanks!).
I now cannot get either audiomoth unit recognised by my laptop to set the time using the time app, which I believe I need to do first before configuring them? Currently they're still not recognised by my laptop (running windows 10) - when plugged in and in USB/off mode I have a single green LED flashing very slowly, every 10 seconds. I can't see any reference as to what this is telling me.
I have 10 units to set up and deploy asap - why are they still not working?
Hi Merryl, Can you describe what you mean by 'I've finally got my AudioMoths to flash using the paperclip approach'. You shouldn't have to do this unless you need to recover a device with corrupted firmware. With new devices, you should just be able to open the Config App and plug the USB cable in with the AudioMoth set to USB/OFF. You will see the time on the device (initially 01/01/1970 00:00:00 when the batteries are inserted) advancing and you can then configure it with your settings. There is a quick start guide here - https://www.openacousticdevices.info/setup-guide - that runs through the process. Alex
