Hi, I’m not sure what you mean by time expansion here? Are you recording at 48kHz rather than a high sample rate suitable for bats?
The settings will depend a little on the species of bat you are recording. The easiest approach to get started is to make regular recordings at 384kHz.
You can then use these recordings to see if you can record at a lower sample rate, or use triggered recordings, by experimenting with the recordings in AudioMoth Play (https://play.openacousticdevices.info). This web app allows you to experiment with frequency and amplitude triggers before actually deploying them. The application note here describes some examples - https://github.com/OpenAcousticDevices/Application-Notes/blob/master/Using_AudioMoth_with_Filtered_and_Triggered_Recordings/Using_AudioMoth_with_Filtering_and_Triggered_Recordings.pdf
