I am new to bioacoustics. I am curious; how far apart can I place the devices from each other? Can the distance between the devices be determined by the study area or the AudioMoths recording frequency?

thanks a lot for information, was searching for it! Many students struggle with math, but there's no need to worry. There are various online resources and professionals available to provide help with math statistics, making this challenging subject more manageable.
It's quite hard to say as it depends on what you are recording and how much background noise there is. We're involved in projects with AudioMoth recording Bitterne over distances of several kilometers, and bird and bats overall several tens of meters.
