Hi, I tried the recent firmware update. Seems like the device got bricked during this process. What is the process to recover the device to working condition?
Follow the instructions in the Flash App under the 'Show Manual Switch Instructions' and say 'LEDs aren't flashing' at the first option. It will then guide you through powering up the device in bootloader mode. This is a bit tricky but will work in the end. You can't permanently brick the AudioMoth through a normal firmware update.
If the firmware got corrupted you won't see the flashing LED as per the instructions and the device is probably going straight to sleep as it can't find any firmware to run.
The way around this is to remove the batteries, hold the paperclip onto the contacts, and then plug in the USB cable - a third hand is useful here. That way the device powers up and immediately finds that it should be in bootloader mode.
You should now see it connected as a USB device and you can run the flash application to write the new firmware.
