Hello All,
Im struggling to connect my external microphone to my Audiomoth 1.2.
I have bought the correct Jack and have soldered all 6 ports (as per pictures).
I have attached https://micbooster.com/modules-with-primo-microphone-capsules/113-362-rugged-mount-primo-em172-mono.html#/77-colour-grey to the jack.
However, it still uses the internal microphone. I've looked through the other forum posts but I cant seem to see anything to solve the issue.
I also cant seen any indication in the file comments that its connected to an external microphone. The batter soldering is working well, its just the microphone I cant get to work.
Any help would be warmly received.
Many thanks
Thanks Alex. I didnt push it in hard enough. Thank you!
The jack detect pin gets connected to ground through the sleeve of the 3.5mm plug in order to detect the external microphone. Check that the jack detect solder joint is good.
Is the plug pushed all the way in? It doesn't stick out quite so far on my 3.5mm plug. It looks like there may be solder in the contact mechanism, on the '1.2.0 Microphone' side of the socket, that it is stopping the plug going all the way in correctly.
