Flashing green light constant red

I've just tried to update the firmware on my 1.0 audiomoth to the latest. I followed the instructions for manual flashing and the app indicated that the device had been successfully flashed. I'm not really sure what went wrong from there but the computer/configuration app now doesn't recognise it. The unit has a green flashing light and the red light on constantly. In the "what do the flashing lights mean" section this combination isn't covered whilst it is in USB/off mode. I have tried changing the mode but same lights are flashing. I've tried re-flashing and configuring with the same results.

Are you sure the constant red and flashing green LED is on in USB/OFF mode? This should appear when you switch to CUSTOM if the time has not been set or if the 'Always require acoustic chime on switching to CUSTOM' option is set. When you say 'I've tried re-flashing' - what mode are you using on the switch? Does the config app and flash app recognise the device?

@Alex Rogers It seems I'm having the same problem with an AudioMoth 1.2.0 (did not see then this topic so I opened a new one).

Solid red + flashing green with the switch on USB/OFF and doesn't react to the time setting chime.

Firmware is 1.6

Hi, Try removing the batteries and the USB cable, wait for a few seconds, and then re-insert batteries or USB. The device is confused about the switch position with USB/OFF being temporarily mapped to CUSTOM. Powering down completely (no batteries or USB cable) should fix this. Alex

Hi Alex, I have taken batteries out and disconnected and left for a few days but as soon as I put batteries back in (with it set to USB/Off) the same light sequence starts.

When I re-flashed it manually it was set to custom as it says to do in the instructions. The configg app doesn't recognise it. the flash app did recognise it.

@tiptopcpt Do you know where this AudioMoth came from originally? Can you post a picture of it? It sounds like a hardware fault on the pin that is used to detect the device hardware version which wasn't used on earlier versions of the firmware. What firmware version was on the device originally? It should still be useable but the positions of the switch will no longer match the labels - you should be able to figure out which switch position is now USB/OFF (it will be when the USB connects), which is CUSTOM (it will show solid red and flashing green) and which is DEFAULT (without SD card it will flash red and green together, or with SD card it will proceed to make a recording). Is it possible to find this remapping of the switch position?
