Can the new HydroMoth be used as a normal AudioMoth?
Because the Audiomoth seems not going available on the market anytime soon, and I might want to use Hydromoth as an alternative for my coming project if that is the case.
Yes, HydroMoth is identical to AudioMoth in terms of its audio capabilities. HydroMoth has a more accurate temperature compensated oscillator for better time keeping, and also an in-built reed switch for activating recordings from outside the case. HydroMoth doesn't have the GPIO pads or the external microphone pads, since it's intended to be used in underwater case. You would need to swap the underwater case for the standard case with an acoustic vent to use it for terrestrial recordings.
