I have two AudioMoths (1.2.0) that are both less than a year old and, prior to switching from Android to an iPhone, were working with no issues. When putting the AudioMoths into Custom mode I have a flashing green light and solid red, but when playing the acoustic chime from the iPhone app, nothing changes. On my Android device there was a change in the lights and then the recording session would start.
Both have the latest firmware version (1.11.0) and have been working previously with this firmware installed. They both used SanDisk Extreme 64GB SD cards which have been reformatted between each recording session. I have also tried new SD cards. There are no visible signs of wear and tear that I can see. Ensured all batteries are fully charged and used brand new batteries.
The only difference is that I am now using an iPhone rather than Android to set the recording session, so wondering if this is the issue. I am using the latest version of the iPhone app (1.3.0) which was last updated 10mo ago on the Apple store.
EDIT: both record when set to DEFAULT
Hi Mark,
It should work well on iPhone. Can you hear the tone playing on the phone? The sound should come out of the bottom speaker, so set the volume to about 3/4 and hold the bottom of the phone near the speaker. The chime without the location will be a bit more robust as it is shorter. When you switch to DEFAULT and make a recording of your normal speaking voice, is the sound clear? Alex
