Now here's a thing - I could not get my audiomoth into programming mode - turns out every paperclip in the house is coated with a varnish, presumable to stop them rusting, which means that they also don't conduct electricity! One short piece of copper wire later and the job's done.

Thanks David. That's really useful to know in case it catches anyone else out. Our university issue paperclips are obviously of a lesser quality.
