Aloha,
This past weekend I went out to replace memory cards and batteries for my devices. Arriving at the song station, I flipped the switch from "Custom" to "Off", replaced SD card and batteries, and flipped switch back to "Custom" to return to the recording schedule. However, I received error messages (green + red blinking lights). I understand this error while switched on "Custom" signifies there is no time set or recording or no recording periods set, but this can't be correct. Three weeks ago I tested out each AudioMoth at my office to ensure it followed the desired schedule. Check. The following day when I deployed my devices I only deployed an AudioMoth if it blinked red OR green, indicating that the device was following my custom schedule. Check. But this past weekend I received this green + red error message during my first attempts to replace SD cards and batteries. This is evidently a user error, so I ask of guidance from the community.
Mahalo for the help.
Andre
Aloha Alex,
Many thanks for the clarification!
Hi Andre, When you replace the battery the AudioMoth will lose it's time and configuration and you will need to use the Config App to set the time and configuration again. The next version of the firmware will support persistent configurations and the use of a smartphone to set the time, but at the moment you have to use the Config App and a USB cable to reset both if you have removed the batteries from the device.
