I was visiting a friend at the Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken New Jersey in late August this year and wanted to capture the sounds of pier. I put my sole AudioMoth in a spot not noticed by passing people at the end of the pier, returning some hours later to find it missing.
I suppose there is no way to track the device knowing its serial number. The only way might be that whomever took it might wonder what it is, and upon a search in Google, etc. just might want to get some info in this forum. Yea, fat chance for that, so I hope whomever has it will get some good recordings. If I am super lucky they just might see this post. Miracles can happen. The SD card has many recordings I would like back.
Perhaps in future versions the developers can make such a addition. Many modern devices now have such a feature, but they cost a lot more.
Trying to post a photo of the Stevens private pier. (Won't let me load for some reason).
Every AudioMoth device has a unique serial numberĀ or identifier. If the abgerny device was lost or stolen and you manage to track it down, this can be used to confirm ownership.
