Can you tell us where you are with sound recognition for triggering recordings?
My colleagues and I will be recording Chimp calls and can, from a first analysis, see that there are frequency/amplitude/sequence characteristics which make them distinguishable from forest noise background. But is there yet a process to make this a routine part of AudioMoth functioning?
Hi Jordan,
Our algorithms are currently being improved and restructured to work on the current AudioMoth hardware release, therefore the algorithm code is not ready for release as of yet. The release will probably be a simple algorithm to get users started on designing their own code, therefore there is not an initial plan to make Chimp detection a routine part of AudioMoth functionality.
We will send an email to all subscribers when the algorithm is released.
Thanks,
