Hello
I ran a quick calibration test recently, and noticed that the sensitivity of my hydromoths seems to vary quite a bit between deployments (approx 3dB variation.) I suspect this is due to differences in how 'snug' the board contacts against the case each time it's slotted in - particularly the moulded pad area of the case next to the mic.
Do you have any thoughts about I could improve this? I was considering adding more padding to the inside of the door, or perhaps a gasket between the mic and housing - but perhaps the latter would muffle the mic.
Hi, We looked at calibrating the HydroMoth and the conclusion was that the air-filled cavity makes this very difficult as it introduces various resonances and directionality which is hard to predict. It might make some difference with a gasket and we'd be keen to see the results. Alex
