I'm using the latest version or Windows 10 64bit, just updated the laptop with it and rebooted a couple of times to ensure all is running OK... which it seems to be...
I've downloaded the latest version of the Flash app and am trying to update the device by clicking the Download button, then the Flash button. Whereupon the app tells me it's applying the firmware to the attached device for about 5 of minutes, before then telling me in ever recurring countless popup dialogues "Ready signal was not received from AudioMoth. Switch to USB/OFF, detach, reattach your device, and try again." until I close the Flash App. (I went and got some new batteries without closing the app, got back about 10 minutes later, and the app was still producing popups.) I have done the above a couple of times, and put a new set of batteries in too... still no luck :(
Any pointers gratefully received :)
Great. Did it then write the new firmware correctly?
It's a bit fiddly but the trick is to make sure that the paper clip is shorting out the contacts at the moment that the USB power is applied so that it immediately goes into bootloader mode. Once done, you can close and restart the Flash App and it will find the device.
Device not seen ? :(
By the way, I'm trying two different USB cables...
P.S. I've had the call for lunch, so back later... ;)
Remove the batteries and follow the instructions under the 'Show Manual Switch Instructions' menu option to manually connect the AudioMoth. That should restore it all.
Alex, many thanks for such a rapid reply :)
I've removed the batteries, connected the AM and am now being told by the Flash app, that it can't find the device...which it was before I did that, and now I've put the batteries back in the AM isn't doing anything at all?
Hi, Can you post a screenshot. You should reflash without batteries as it ensure that the AudioMoth gets a full power-off reset after updating the firmware. When you plug your AudioMoth into the USB with the flash app open, does it recognise the firmware version that is already installed?
