I purchased 2 AudioMoths V.1.1.0 (Round 9) which I received on March 10, 2020. Everything worked well until a few days ago with one of them (my AudioMoth AB-1) which just started producing 0 octet files. Two days ago I flashed it and reconfigured it, and made a shot test to check recording which it did - see in attached file. This morning, I brought both of them in to download the recorded files and found out that AudioMoth AB-1 has produced 0 octet files during the night. AudioMoth AB-2 is still working well.
I would appreciate some help to resolve this issue.
Best regards,
André Bernard
Glad that fixed it.
Reformated the SD card, made a one hour test, my AudioMoth AB-1 is working perfectly. So I Reformatted AudioMoth AB-2's SD card. Thank You Much. André
Hi, The AudioMoth has repeatedly tried to make the scheduled recording and has opened each file on time. However, at some point during the recording the SD card write has failed and it has not been able to close the resulting file - hence the zero size and the default file modification date. This is possibly due to very low voltage batteries. However, the AudioMoth should be able to close the file before the batteries get too low. It is more likely due to something wrong with the SD card which is causing write errors, or most likely that the SD card is full. Check the SD card first. If you delete files on a desktop machine, the files are often just moved to a hidden folder, and have not actually been deleted. Reformatting the card is the safest way to ensure that is it completely clear. Alex
