Hi all,
I'm trying to update my Audiomoth's firmware to 1.3.0 (currently using 1.2.1). I downloaded the Flash App and followed the instructions to manually switch to flash mode but I end up with a "No AudioMoth found" status at the end of the instructions, after both leds go off using the paperclip:
The steps I follow are the following:
1- Set the switch to CUSTOM
2- Remove the 3 batt's (both led's are flashing)
3- Connect the PROGRAM contacts with a paperclip until led's go off
4- The instructions show No AudioMoth found on the current status. It's also said verify connection
For some reason, I hear the usb disconnection sound on my laptop a few seconds after I get to step 4 and leds start flashing again.
I'm using Windows 8 64 bits.
Any ideas what is causing this problem?
Many thanks in advance,
Rob
Hi Andy, I didn't reply as I haven't got the chance to try it in a different laptop yet. Will do whenever I can! Cheers,
Rob
How did it go with another laptop?
Hi Andy, Will try in a different laptop. Can you specify what USB driver from the list showing in the picture you mean? Thank you,
Rob
Hi Rob,
I think that one of the USB drivers that is already installed is stopping the AudioMoth CDC driver working. Do you have another PC/laptop you could try?
Thanks,
Andy
This is what the USB ports show (sorry about the Spanish language, let me know if you need any translation):
I've got a HDD and a mouse plugged via USB too.
Thanks,
Rob
Hi Andy,
Thanks for your reply. Yes I have no issues configuring it with the old firmware. I've tried updating it with several USB cables as well, but with no luck.
I will try that once I get the audiomoth back from the field next week.
Thank you,
Robert
Hi Rob,
Does the device configure okay with the old firmware? This is just to confirm the USB cable is working.
If the USB cable works, a starting point would be to reboot your machine and repeat the process above. Then could you open the Device Manager and let us know what the Ports listings show?
Thanks,
Andy
