Both lights only flashing

Hello friends. I have a problem with a pair of audiomoth.

The problem is that both led's flash intermittently in DEFAULT mode and in CUSTOM mode. I have changed batteries and memories three times thinking that this could be the problem but no. I am not sure. It should be noted that I had tried the AM's before and they had worked fine.

The firmware version is the most recent: 1.8.0.

Hi, Can you confirm the exact flash pattern here - https://www.openacousticdevices.info/led-guide. It sounds like an SD card write error. Are the cards formatted at FAT32 or exFAT format? What make and mode SD card are you using? Alex

The two LED flashing together is an SD card write error. In DEFAULT it repeatedly tries to start the file, fails and flashes both LED with a 500ms flash. In CUSTOM, it tries once to start the file, does the same flash, and then does repeated 10ms flashes until it it time to start another recording (depending on the schedule you have set). SD card write errors might be due to the SD cards being un-readable by the AudioMoth. Reformat them as FAT32 or exFAT drives. It may be a very low battery voltage that is preventing the SD card from responding. Or it may be a hardware fault which is sometimes due to corrosion of the PCB due to water exposure. Does the AM actually write a WAV file and a CONFIG.TXT files? The the LED description I'd assume not.
