Hej, I've several AudioMoth and tested them using different SD cards and the default configruations. Unfortunetlay, two AudioMoth (id: wk04, wk06) have this error: when using default conf both green and red lights flash and nothing is recorded, when I switch to costum conf (which is also the default from the conf app) the green and red lights flash faster, but nothig is recorded. A third AufdioMoth (id: ti02) has this error: when using the default or costum conf (which is also the default from the conf app) no light flashes and nothing is recorded. A fourth AudioMoth (id: ti05) has a problem with the USB-Port because the SD card doesn't klick when inserted and can easy slip out. However, this device records normally as long as the SD cards stays where it should be. I tested different SD cards (SanDisk 64 GB ultra, SanDisk 64 GB extreme, SanDisk 128 GB extreme) all where formated before. The SD cards and configruation work well for my other AudioMoth where I got normal records. I used the AudioMoth wk04 and ti02 before this systematic test for some basic trails and both worked fine (also tested highest possible sample rate for bats). Now, I tested all AudioMoth systematically using the same playback file, because I want to be sure all work good before deploying them in the field in two weeks. And now I have the described errors as described above.
.
Do you have some advice how I can fix these problems? My technical skills are very limited. Looking forward to your answers! Kind regards, Wiltrut PS: attached you find the videos of the flashes or no flashes.
Hej Alex, thanks for your advices. When I switch batteries and don't use rechargable one's the AudioMoth with the erlier red and green LED, record in default conf now again! However, in custom conf the red light shines stable and the green blicks - what does the AudioMoth try to tell me here? The other AudioMoth has no flashes still, changing batteries doesn't the trick here. The communication with PC works normal. Both with and without batteries the AudioMoth Apps work and the green LED is on.
I can rule water damage out, because I used them only in controlled conditions so far. No water drops came near the AudioMoth and they were in cases all the time. I purchased the two AudioMoth with the flashes at groupgets and the one with no flashes directly at LableMaker. All were purchased 2023 and are AudioMoth 1.2.0.
