Hi,
My audio moth should flash red for 55 seconds when recording and then 5 seconds on green to show it is on its sleep cycle. However it is flashing red like it recording and then instead of flashing green the red stops flashing and then flashes slowly. What does this mean?
Thanks,
Eve
Hi Alex,
Thank you! I haven't looked at the files in the SD so I will do that too see if the length of the recordings are still correct. The SD cards were reformatted just under 2 weeks ago before putting back in. They usually fill up in about 2 weeks and so I change them. I try and select daily folders for WAV files.
Thanks again
Eve
Hi Eve, Is it still making the recordings of the correct duration?
It sounds like opening and closing files is taking a while so it doesn't have time to wait between 55 seconds recordings. This happens if there are lots of files on the SD card, or the file allocation is congested with deleted/hidden files.
Reformatting the SD card will address the second issue. If you are generating lots of files - 20,000+ over a deployment - and the gap between files is short then enabling the 'Use daily folder for generated WAV files' will keep the file opening time constant over the deployment.
We always use SanDisk Extreme SD cards (green and gold) which are reliable, fast and low-energy.
