Hello,
I have recently updated my firmware on my AM 1.1.0 from 1.2.1 to 1.4.4 as I am keen to use the new filter features however, once I have flashed the new firmware the USB connection drops after 3 or so seconds repeatedly, resetting the time (please see video). I have flashed all firmwares sequentially and it would appear that it is stable to 1.2.1 but the issue reoccurs from 1.2.2 onwards.
I have updated my laptop drivers but to no avail. Any advice would be very gratefully recieved.
Can you email me at alex@openacousticdevices.info to follow up. I think this one has a hardware fault.
Also configuration appearing to work on FW1.2.2 and creating .WAV files but not recording any sound with settings and SD card that have worked previously. I am concerned that it has given up the ghost after only its second outing.
It came from Groupgets. Clock also resetting on USB with batteries on FW 1.4.4
Where did this AudioMoth come from originally?
What happens when you try to make a recording in default mode with batteries fitted and the USB cable disconnected with version 1.4.4? Make sure you power down (remove batteries and unplug USB cable) between updates. The big change from 1.2.1 to 1.2.2 is the size of the binary so I'm wondering if there is a fault with the internal flash which wasn't apparent before due to the smaller binary.
That's quite strange as there wasn't anything very significant between 1.2.1 and subsequent versions that should affect the USB functionality, and all the versions since 1.2.2 have obviously been working well for a while. Can you try with batteries in the AudioMoth? I'm assuming that the green LED goes off and the then comes back on again because the laptop is switching off the USB power to the device.
Have now flashed back to 1.2.1 and configured successfully so it would appear that it is some sort of software issue rather than hardware.
Hi. You have both the Flash App and the Time App running at the same time. They are both trying to talk to the same AudioMoth and are probably confusing each other. Close the Flash App and it will most likely work fine. Alex
