I am hoping to do daily recording for a while. Can I swap cards in situ without a laptop or do I have to redo the config from the laptop with the empty card in place in the audiomoth? I expect this is in the instructions but I cannot find it.
Thanks
Robert
Great thanks for quick reply...
Yes, you can also just take the SD card out and swap it over. If the AudioMoth is currently recording (flashing red LED) you will lose the current file being written but you won't damage the card doing this. If it is waiting between recording (flashing green LED) there is no problem.
If it is recording and you want to keep the current recording just move the switch to USB/OFF which will close the file correctly (there will be a comment in the file header saying that recording was stopped early). Then you can then put the SD card in and switch back to CUSTOM. Your AudioMoth will flash the green LED whilst waiting to make the next recording - either at the start of the next recording period, or the start of the next sleep/record cycle if you are already in a recording period.
Flashing both red and green LED together indicates an error, and you will see this if you take the SD card out whilst it is recording, or you fail to put the SD card back in before it tries to start recording. It will recover by itself as soon as you put the new SD card in.
